It appears that the Arizona ATF had a program to sell guns to suspicious characters so they could then trace them to specific Cartels. Only problem was that they didn't have a means to do this tracing unless they found them after a shoot out. It's really hard to believe that they did this without authorization from the DOJ. Also, wouldn't it have been better to use all this manpower and brainpower to STOP Illegals from entering the US?
We'll learn more in the next few weeks as the Senate and House investigations proceed.
