Shared Sacrifices for Everyone Else!

Here is a video of one of the Spender In Chief's Disengenuous speeches on shared sacrifices.

Shared Sacrifice: Lady Obama Spends $10 MILLION on Vacations In the Past Year

Thursday, August 25, 2011 12:23

President Obama needs your help. In a July 15, 2011 briefing he told the American people that we have to be willing to seize the moment, but that it would take shared sacrifice to do it:

And so during the course of these discussions with congressional leaders, what I’ve tried to emphasize is we have a unique opportunity to do something big. We have a chance to stabilize America’s finances for a decade, for 15 years or 20 years, if we’re willing to seize the moment.
Now, what that would require would be some shared sacrifice and a balanced approach that says, “We’re going to make significant cuts in domestic spending.”
-Barack Obama July 15, 2011 (video)
While Americans are chipping in by sacrificing their jobs, homes, kid’s college tuition, and their retirement plans, Ms. Obama apparently missed her husband’s speech:
White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers’ money on vacations alone in the past year.
Branding her ‘disgusting’ and ‘a vacation junkie’, they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.
And the first family’s nine-day stay in Martha’s Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.
The source continued: ‘Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines.
‘The vacations are totally Michelle’s idea. She’s like a junkie. She can’t schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next – all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans.’

While the President and his wife do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the website whitehousedossier.com says that the amount paid by the couple is ‘dwarfed by the overall cost to the public’.
And while Michelle and the President is calling for shared sacrifices from ALL Citizens, he is giving shameful raises to his own staff. (Forwarded by Peg M)

Congress Reports $30 Billion Wasted in Iraq-Afghanistan

The report from a bi-partisan panel estimates that $30 Bil has been wasted on Contracted Projects in our "Nation Building Efforts" in the Middle East.  Poor planning, vague and shifting requirements and very poor project management are some of the causes of this loss.  The panel has 15 recommendations, but my first one is "Let's Get the H___ Out!

At a time when we are drowning in debt with record unemployment numbers we just cannot afford this, even if it was justified which it isn't.  We should never go to war on foreign soil unless there is an "Imminent Threat" to our own Security.  Meanwhile, the administration refuses to address  the real imminent threat on our border with Mexico.

We need to replace this Administration and Congressmen who are making these irrational decisions.

Illinois Tax Increase Spurs Job Losses

A recent post on the Huntley Area Tea Party Web Site (Under States) notes an article by the Illinois Policy Institute regarding Job Losses in Illinois.  Once again we are number 1.  The job losses started with the enactment of Governor Quinn's 66% Tax Increase.  Not mentioned in this article is the tremendous amounts of money that Quinn is having to spend to Bribe companies in to staying in Illinois.  Like the Federal Government, we are increasing taxes while increasing unemployment and we are constantly ranked as one of the worst managed States in the Country.

California Considers Ban on Circumcision

California is considering a bill to Ban Circumcision of Male Children even though studies show it reduces health risks..  Do ya think they might be intruding to much on the Rights of the Parents and Religions to make these decisions?

Do they have any idea of how the Constitution is written and what the rights of government are?

Supreme Court Strikes a Blow for Immigration Control

Posted by the Heritage Foundation

"On May 26, the U. S. Supreme Court issued its ruling in Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting.[1] In a 5–3 decision, the Court upheld the Legal Arizona Workers Act of 2007, allowing states to force employers to use the E-Verify system and revoke the business licenses of employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

On the heels of that decision, Arizona recently petitioned the Supreme Court to hear Arizona v. United States, a case involving an Arizona immigration law called the “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act” (S.B. 1070). That petition, and ultimate success in the Court, seems all the more likely now given the holding and rationale in Whiting and the not-so-secret fact that the federal government’s inaction on immigration enforcement has crippled states like Arizona."

This is a great step forward but we can expect a challenge from the Obama Injustice Department.

Voter Fraud

This evening the Huntley Area Tea Party hosted a speaker from "Defend the Vote", Sharon Meroni.  Did you realize that we had a serious problem with voter fraud not just in Chicago but across the State?  Did you know that:
  1. Illinois never reconciles the paper trail with the recorded vote
  2. Early voting which is 18% of the Total is never audited
  3. 14 of the 110 Election Districts Audited by DTV had more voters than people registered
  4. The manufacturer of the Electronic Voting Machines used by Chicago and others shares and office in Toronto with George Soros AND that their software has never been audited
  5. 59% of Districts in Chicago had not sealed the boxes of the equipment and logs they sent to the official tally site
Well the list of problems go on and on.  Defend the Vote is seeking people to volunteer as "Poll Watchers, Election Judges and Process Auditors.  Please go to their web site to see more info and please consider volunteering in your area.

One of the trainers for Defend the Vote is Ev Everetsen husband of Dianne.  HATP hopes to have Ev conduct a Training Session for our Volunteers in January.

Obama's Bad Luck by Charles Krauthammer

Were all of our recent financial problems caused by Bad Luck and the Republicans?  We think not!

Thoughts and Videos on the Financial Crisis

Background and Causes of the Financial Crisis

I am not an economist but as an investor I’ve been trying to understand the causes of the 2008 Financial Crisis that triggered our current problems.  As an armature Political Scientist and History buff I feel we need to Understand the past in order to avoid the same mistakes in the future.  So here is my take on this calamity.  Basically, there is enough blame to go around if you were just trying to blame a political party.  But the causes were really a chain of events starting with the Community Investment Act under the Carter Administration.  Essentially, this started the Philosophy that Government should encourage the Banking industry to “make home mortgages affordable to low income individuals that couldn’t afford them” – an Oxymoron if there ever was one.  The government also encouraged Fannie and Freddie to insure these mortgages.  With this encouragement the Banks and Mortgage Brokers broke with their conservative traditions and started to create mortgages that had lower or no interest, interest only payments etc.  Why not, they were making money.  It wasn’t only the low income folks who were taking advantage of this, the investment approach of Flipping (buying a property before the building was complete and selling it at a profit before you had to make any payments), ran rampant.  While this was going on the market was booming and the Banks and Financial Institutions began to bundle “High Risk” loans with other loans in an instrument known as a Derivative (essentially these were insurance policies to cover the risks) and it went well until Bankers Trust sold a Derivative to Proctor and Gamble and it went bust.  P&G then sued Bankers Trust which brought the whole Derivative mess to the attention of the Chairwoman of a small Commission called the Commodities and Futures Trading Commission.  Her name was Brooksley Born but when she decided to “Regulate” this market she was shut down by Allan Greenspan (Federal Reserve), Bob Rubin (Treasury Secretary) and Rubin’s Enforcer Larry Summers.  Also involved was one of Summer’s Assistants Timothy Geitner.

Following are some Video clips that discuss the events of this time including the efforts by Congress to support Fannie and Freddie and deny that there were any problems.  Eventually, a small group from the Financial Advisory Board to developed a requirement for all Companies and Banks to implement “Mark to Market” which triggered our most recent decline of Banks, the Real Estate Market and the Market in total.  There were other issues of course such as Credit Default Swaps but the videos below should give us all a good idea as to what the causes were.

The Warning – a PBS Video showing how the Chairwoman of the Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, Brooksley Born discovered how the Banks were bundling Toxic Assets in to Derivatives (Essentially and Black Box used as insurance hedge against investment risks) and decided they should be regulated.  However, the Financial leaders at the time, Allan Greenspan, Bob Rubin (Treasury), and his assistant Larry Summers succumbed to pressure from the Banking Lobbyists and Ordered her not to pursue this issue.  Greenspan was a disciple of Ayan Rand and essentially believed that if there was any fraud, the Markets would correct themselves.

Obamacare Secret Meetings

This is interesting. A federal Court is allowing Freedom Watch to access content of Secret Meetings that Obama had re Obamacare. May be good fodder for election.

It's about Jobs Stupid!

Very good article and Video from CEO of Carl's Jr. and an IHOP Franchiser.  Regulations and in particular Obamacare are killing them.  Meanwhile, the Administration has issued over 1400 waivers including McDonald's.  A couple of days ago I listened to an interview with the CEO of Heinz Food.  He reiterated the same thing.  Essentially, don't expect businesses to invest new capital (and create jobs) in the US while there is such confusion about the Economy and Regulators are running rampant.

What's with the Waivers?  Isn't what's good for the goose good for the gander?  I'm personally not expecting this to change until we replace the current "Spender and Regulator in Chief" and exile all of his followers from key government positions.  The majority of them weren't qualified for these positions but then again neither was he.

Regulators still holding up Drilling in the Gulf

This is a great status of drilling in the Gulf.  While there are more Rigs in the Gulf than before the spill, there are fewer working due to Government delay in issuing permits.   Industry observers remain concerned about the rate of approval for the drilling plans submitted since the end of the moratorium.
"If we don't see a permitting process that moves forward with reasonable speed, these rigs will remain idle and eventually leave," said Michael Hecht, president of Greater New Orleans Inc.

Meanwhile the Energy Department reports that it is taking extra time to review the requested permits for safety issues.  They are (of course) asking for more money to hire more reviewers.

Obama to Add Confusion To Economic Plans

In the attached article it is reported that the Spender in Chief will be giving a national speech in September in which he will announce a "NEW ECONOMIC PLAN" to reduce spending.  This is so typical of his Rope a Dope strategy of Leading from Behind.  What about just presenting a Budget for 2012 with serious cuts in it and a 5 year plan with it?  What about the Simpson-Bowles Commission that HE EMPOWERED?  How about the GANG of SIX proposal or the House Budget?

Instead of taking the report from his own commission or one of the others and entering in to serious negotiations he will add another plan to the mix.  Undoubtedly, we will see another plan with Tax Increases for the job creators and increased short term aid for the jobless while doing nothing to spur real economic growth.

But of course, spurring economic growth is not his goal.  He just wants to put a plan out there so that he can have something to say when the Election kicks in to high gear in 2012.

No Budget, No Real Economic Solutions, just Politics and Class Warfare.

545 Politicians vs. the Citizens

I just received this in an email from a friend.  It's Charlie Reese' last column and he's opining quite correctly on the 545 people in Washington who actually make all the final decisions that have created the mess we are in.

A very interesting column.. COMPLETELY NEUTRAL
Be sure to Read the Poem at the end.

Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel...
He has been a journalist for 49 years.
He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN.

Be sure to read the Tax List at the end.

This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000 People
-By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ...

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have read it... is up to you.
This might be funny if it weren't so true.
Be sure to read all the way to the end:

Tax his bed,
Tax the table,

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom, if agreed, stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

I hope this goes around THE USA at least 545 times!!! YOU can help it get there!!!

GO AHEAD. . . BE AN AMERICAN!!!

Classic Obama

This is Obama's idea of Leadership.  The Economy is in the tank, we have unbelievable unemployment numbers, No Budget and No specific plan from the President to right the Ship.  So what does he do?  A bus tour to see the farmers in the Midwest.  Then he'll soon be off for 10 days in Martha's Vineyard for a vacation with the family who just came back from a summer vacation in Africa.

The only good news today is that according to a Gallup Poll his approval rating is now down to 39%.  It's still about 37% too high but it's a start.

Judiciary gettin Wise to Obama's Tricks

Earlier we noted that the Atlanta Circuit Court had ruled the Obamacare Mandate Unconstitutional.  It now needs to be addressed by the Supreme Court.  Now we see another Judge ruling against the Administrations attempts to delay drilling with new rules.  It's a non stop attack by the Regulators.

Attack of the Regulators - Part One

Obama's regulators have added $9.5 billion in new regulations - in just one month.  It's hard to keep up with the quantity of activities that this administration undertakes to create a Socialist, anti-Capitalist State.

Is History Repeating Itself?

Is History Repeating itself?  It often does.  The  only caveat I see here is that the German people had been severely impacted by the Treaty of Versailles, so even the average German felt that they were being treated unfairly by the Western Allies.

The important thing here is for people to look at the Whole Picture of Obama's deeds since he has been in office.  My previous article talks about the Unconstitutionality of Obamacare and let's not forget his Justice Department that refuses to pursue cases against the Black Panthers (Brown Shirts?) who blocked polling booths, his NRLB who is trying to prevent Boeing from opening a Plant in  South Carolina, and many other Federal Agencies who are bi-passing Congress and ignoring Judicial decisions in order to implement "Socialist" policies.  And finally, he mentions our poor Education system.  George Washington Carver once said that "Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom".

David Kaiser is not alone in his Fear for America!  Are you frightened?

What if he's right?
I hope you find the time to read this with an open mind. It's interesting. Please read it with the open mind rather than immediately breaking it down into left or right, but rather look at it from the neutral viewpoint of right or wrong. It's like the line below says, "what if he is right?"
Take the three minutes to read this. Maybe he is wrong, but what if he’s right?
David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball. Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal .. He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976.. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College . He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser's latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

From David Kaiser:

History Unfolding
I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus..

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy... Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten...And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska .. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and .... . ... change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course.. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

Another Court Rules Against Obamacare Mandate

First they said it wasn't a Tax.  Then when lower courts challenged that premise they said it was covered by the "Commerce Clause".   They can create different answers every day but the American People do not like the law and its impact of deficits, its Councils, Doctors etc.  And we all know in our hearts that this is UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Super Commission - Not Serious Effort

We now have the 12 members of the Super Commission that is charged with finding about $1.5 Trillion in savings by Thanksgiving.  However, the Leaders of the Senate and the House seem to already have written this off.  Instead of appointing some folks from the Simpson-Bowles Commission that Obama Ignored, or the Gang of Six that was sabotaged at the last minute, we have all new people.

I'm not sure if it was Simpson or T Boone Pickens who over the weekend said to look at who is appointed.  He said that if none of the Gang of 6 was appointed then we would know that they just weren't serious.  And looking at  Pelosi's appointments in particular this really stands our.

So expect the Trigger of $1.2 T to have to be used and let's ratchet up the conversation of insisting on a final Budget for 2012 by the end of the year.  The House Republicans have put a detailed budget on the table but as usual - in keeping with his style of "Leading from Behind" Obama and his Democratic Controlled Senate have offered ZIP!

France doing a Better Economic Job than the US :-(

Well, this is really sad.  Obama has managed to make the US less serious in addressing financial issues than one of the worlds biggest socialist countries.

According to the S&P, the French government has been more serious than the U.S. in addressing fiscal issues, therefore France's triple-A sovereign rating is not at risk, a Standard & Poor's analyst said on Wednesday.
his is really embarrassing.  France, a long time socialist Country is perceived by Standard and Poors to be "

Blaming From Behind

Once again, the President is "Blaming Congress" for the Credit Downgrade.  Meanwhile his aides are blaming the Tea Party for their part in demanding "Fiscal Responsibility".  Yet he he and his party have not had an approved budget in two years and as the Chief Executive in charge of "The Office of Management and Budgets" he has not put a serious detailed plan on the table.

Illinois in Top 3 of States Losing Residents

Great Video (and Short) regarding the top states where Residents are Fleeing from.  The message is the same.  Politicians like to have big taxes and think they know what's best for business.  So, between Taxes, Regulations and other factors (like right to work laws) that are discouraging to businesses, they move jobs to other states.  Of course these States with high taxes are also following the model that Washington is using.

The only solution here is for more people to join with the chants of the Tea Parties to:
  • Limit Government and,
  • Demand Fiscal Responsibility
Obama and all the Deficit Spenders MUST be Voted out in 2012!

Geitner is a Big Part of the Problem

One would hope that by now, Geitner would have been replaced by someone that other Countries actually respect.  Even the Chinese students laughed at him.  Having him on the call with the G-7 is like having Peewee Herman coaching a football team.  Oh, well not to worry, our biggest creditor (China) isn't even on the call.

Notice that Dems keep referring to Tea Party members as ultra conservative as opposed to what they really are which is "Fiscally Responsible".

Comments from watching some shows over the weekend:
  1. 18 Countries have better Credit Ratings than the US.
  2. When asked what his first step would be Herman Cain said he would:  Reduce the Income Tax Top rate for individuals and business to 25%, Eliminate the Capital Gains Tax and create a tax Holiday for businesses to re-patriate profits.
  3. Bachman felt that the President should address the Nation with some kind of action intentions - Before the Markets open on Sunday evening.
  4. Several people commented that the Debt Ceiling Negotiations were a stick in the eye of all the other recommendations made before as well as Standard and Poors who told them ahead of time that they were looking for around $4 Trillion in cuts.  The Politicians and Geitner all ignored the S&P Chairman's warnings,  Geitner even made statements that a reduction would never happen.
  5. All agree that Geitner must go!  But even if he does, with Obama still in charge the Nation is still in peril.

No Budget - No Problem?

This is from yesterday's WSJ.  I suspect that many of you have already read or heard about this.  It is a question from Paul Ryan asking the President where his budget is?  If you remember the only Budget proposal from the White House a couple of months ago had not cuts and continued with the Deficit Spending and increasing the National Debt .  It completely ignored the recommendations of the Presidents own Commission and it was rejected in a bi-partisan fashion.  Since then there was a Budget Proposal by Ryan that passed in the House but was "Tabled" in the Senate.  So, even though we've just spent a month or more debating the Debt Ceiling Increase, we are nowhere on the 2012 Budget.

The Obama Administration  hasn't had a Budget in 2 years and it doesn't seem to be a priority for them at all.  Could any other Business or even family survive in today's perilous times without a budget?

We have to make sure that He is held Responsible for his Total Lack of Fiscal Leadership.

Thanks Barry!

Great couple of days we've had.  GDP is down under 2%, Debt Ceiling Increase passed with "Promises" of future, Job layoffs at major companies and now Stocks have been tumbling for over a week.

Meanwhile, Barack (Nero) Obama keeps playing the same old songs on his political fiddle.

We need a "deadline" on finalizing the 2012 Budget and we need to hold the Administration and Senate responsible.  The Senate has just tabled everything that the house has sent them and the Administration's last proposal kept up deficit spending and growing the National Debt.

CNBC - Hats off to Tea Party - For Now

Great article re Tea Parties!

I just got back from lunch  with a few friends where we discussed this same topic.  Tea Partiers (and I am one of them) and Candidates need to make sure that they don't let "Theology" Trump (no pun intended) common sense politics.  In a large national political system, Politics is really the "ART" of NEGOTIATING to get the best outcome that you can for your constituents.

Tea Parties and Candidates occasionally have to swallow their Theological Pride and Vote for the Best outcome.

The Connie Mack 1% Plan

Tea-Party Backed Freedom Works Supports Mack Plan to Balance The Budget Within Eight Years
WASHINGTON, July 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) welcomed the support of Freedom Works for the "One Percent Spending Reduction Act," legislation – also known as the "Penny Plan" – that was introduced by Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) last week, and authored by Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL) last spring in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mack stated: "I am proud to have the support of Freedom Works and the great work of their Chairman , Leader Dick Armey. Our deficits and debt hang around us like an albatross, and last November American voters sent a clear message to their elected officials that 'enough is enough' when it comes to Washington's appetite for spending."
Presently the Mack Penny plan enjoys the support of over 40 co-sponsors in the U.S House; the backing of the Republican Study Committee's 103 Members, three key U.S. Senators, and two grassroots organizations .
The Penny Plan balances the budget by:
  • Cutting total federal spending by one percent each year for six consecutive years,
  • Setting an overall spending cap of 18 percent of gross domestic product in 2018, and
  • Reducing overall spending by $7.5 trillion over 10 years.
This is even simple and clear enough for Liberals to Comprehend.  And who couldn't reduce spending by 1%.
If Congress and the President are unable to make the necessary cuts, the bill's fail-safe triggers automatic, across-the-board cuts to ensure the one percent reductions are achieved.
Matt Kibbe of Freedom Works stated: "Washington is on an unprecedented spending binge. Our national debt has skyrocketed to nearly $14.4 trillion. The Republican Study Committee has listed the One Percent Spending Reduction Act as a bold solution in their "Cut, Cap and Balance" proposal letter to House leadership. The letter states that it would be fiscally irresponsible to raise the debt ceiling without immediate spending cuts, enforceable total-spending caps and a balanced budget amendment. Rep. Mack's "penny plan" should be considered as the second part of the RSC's "Cut, Cap, and Balance" approach for the debt ceiling in order to put federal spending on the path to a balanced budget."

Economic Confusion or CYA Politics

Maybe I'm reading too much but it seems to me we have to have a degree in speed reading, a photographic memory and the ability to sort through gobledgook in order to figure out who is talking about what regarding our economy.  We've had:

  • The Simpson/Bowles Commission Plan that was a great start towards balancing the ship.  This was requested and authorized by President Obama.
  • The Obama Budget Proposal for 2012 which ignored his own Commissions' recommendations and kept increasing the National Debt and spending.
  • The Paul Ryan Plan (along with Simpson/Bowles a good place to start real negotiations.
  • The Gang of Six (not six sigma)
  • The Boehner, McConnell and Reid Plans
  • The Connie Mack "Reduce Spending by 1% per year Plan"
  • And now the "Almost" Debt Increase Agreement yesterday that still needs to be approved.
  • And several other Plans that were noteworthy.
And we thought that the Obamacare Bill was confusing.

Why can't our Leaders select one of these plans and sit down on Public TV with a professional Negotiator to negotiate item by item and get this resolved?

Would this be too mature and transparent.  Of course it would be and would not give them an opportunity to Spin for their Ideological Supporters (on both sides).

The Debt Ceiling "almost" Agreement

A debt increase with a short term commitment for spending reductions and no tax increases is on the fast track.  It also seems to have some commitment for a Balanced Budget Amendment and re-writing the Tax Code which are good things - but since there are no real specifics yet we have to be cautious.
a. Congress still has to approve the deal.
b. Some sort of "Super Committee needs to come up with details on the next round of spending cuts.  (But good on the GOP for getting triggers in there for cuts if the Committee fails to agree.
c. Nice "Talk" about re-writing the tax code and further cuts but we've heard that before.
d. We still have to address the 2012 Budget, Obamacare and Government programs that show the Business investors that we are committed to Fiscal Responsibility, a Business Friendly Environment and Job Growth.
I'm not sure that we have enough adults in Congress to address all of this and I am sure there aren't enough Non Socialists in the Administration to Lead this effort.
What am I talking about, they Lead from Behind any way!
